The duo Alone Together - The Art of Duo unites two formative voices of the Würzburg jazz scene: guitarist Joe Krieg and saxophonist Dirk Rumig. With minimal instrumentation but maximum expressiveness, the two enter into an intense musical dialog. Their musical ideas intertwine in a highly dynamic way: Themes and motifs are developed improvisationally in real time, reacting, varying and reinterpreting each other. The result is a lively interplay that turns every performance into a unique, immediately tangible event. The two musicians met at the Würzburg University of Music, where they graduated in 2002. Since then, they have been central figures in the regional and national jazz scene, both individually and together. Concert series, tours and CD productions characterize their long-standing collaboration - based on mutual appreciation, shared role models and a clear musical vision. In recent years, Krieg and Rumig have developed their duo project into a concert format that is as varied as it is independent. Alone Together - The Art of Duo stands for sensitive communication, virtuoso improvisation and a jazz experience at the highest level.
