Dobranotch - Konzert und Gedenktag

In the organizer's words:

Polka, strange songs and non-Aryan arias. Dobranotch heat us up and make us laugh and think at this concert, which is combined with two exhibitions on the subject to mark the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of National Socialism.

This is the third time that this Russian band from Germany with roots in France has played here. The Taz writes about them: "A lone tuba sets the beat and makes one thing immediately clear: even in their twenty-first year of existence, Dobranotch have not become a bit quieter. The band from Russia mixes a self-confident sound of klezmer, Balkan and gypsy. Successful experiments often lead to incredible clashes, such as the Yiddish version of a song by Rammstein - "Du host mich". The band's repertoire also includes Russian songs from the golden age of brass bands.
Dobranotch has now been around for just over twenty years. During this time, they have traveled to more than twenty countries around the world, playing on philharmonic stages, in clubs and at open-air festivals.
Energetic, cheerful and ludicrously virtuosic. They sing in Russian or Yiddish, or in eijeijei.

A joint project by young Germans and Poles on the subject of German-Polish relations and the Holocaust is presented in a documentary exhibition. Another exhibition deals with the forced laborers stationed in Mahndorf and the barracks in which they lived, which are still within walking distance.
