Dance premiere by Jonas Frey / COTA Projects

How are memory, identity and responsibility formed in a danced present? Doisri is an interdisciplinary performance that combines movement, sound and language into a moving structure. Personal memories meet social issues - not told in a linear fashion, but in performative fragments: Movements, sounds, images, narratives and words become metaphors that are choreographically condensed.

The performance develops as an open network of sensory impressions and thought processes, leaving room for interpretation and reflection. For Doisri, Jonas Frey collaborates with Dominik Fürstberger, who translates the themes into a multi-layered sound concept.

The title Doisri (Sranan Tongo for "German") refers to the childhood of Jonas Frey's father in the internment camp in Suriname - a biographical trace that connects with current questions of media truth formation and historical responsibility.
