An evening dedicated to memories, family history and German and Heidelberg history - based on the family stories of two dance artists born in Heidelberg.

DOISRI by Jonas Frey

In DOISRI, Jonas Frey explores with live sound by Dominik Fürstberger how memory, identity and responsibility are formed in a danced present, and combines movement, sound and language into an interdisciplinary performance of performative fragments. The title - Sranan Tongo for "German" - refers to the internment experience of Jonas Frey's father in Suriname and is the starting point for negotiating personal memories with social issues in an open structure of movements, sounds, images and words.

HONORARY AWARD: for Otto by Lisa Bless

A solo performance about identity, responsibility and the question of how we want to live and remember together today. In EHRENPREIS: für Otto, dance becomes language in order to make family memories, stories, silence, shame and what has been passed on visible. The interplay of body, voice and narrative creates a space in which personal and shared history meet.
