In the organizer's words:

domicil has been the address for jazz, improvised and creative music in the Ruhr region since 1969, making it the oldest of the 12 independent cultural centers in the city of Dortmund. However, domicil e.V. is also a model for voluntary work and cultural participation, as the members of the association support the running of the cultural center through voluntary work and around 5,000 hours of commitment per year.

The Vinyl Shake in the domicil bar, which takes place every Monday, is organized by DJs from the domicil association with treasures from their private record collections. The turntables play an always surprising mix of jazz, funk, blues, soul, world beats, Latin/Brasil & pop/rock.

Now, instead of Mondays, the records are exceptionally being played on Fridays at mono.
