DortmUnderground 1978 - 1998

DortmUnderground 1978-1998 sheds light on the Dortmund music scene, which grew out of the basement rooms in the Do It Yourself culture of punk, away from the mainstream.

Since bands such as The Neat, Clox and The Idiots formed in 1978, a lively scene emerged in the years that followed, which organized its own concerts, founded its own fanzines and quickly opened up the musical boundaries to heavy metal, psychedelic, alternative rock, reggae and hip hop. The accompanying exhibition shows old photos, records, fanzines, concert posters and other artifacts, which are explained in detail by contemporaries in interviews and personal accounts in the 144-page book.
