In the organizer's words:

This is where the idea was born to simply fire up the sandwich maker at a party and offer people melting cheese between slices of toasted white bread. And bang, it worked. Because it always works.

Nobody knows exactly why the name "YOLO-TOAST" became synonymous with our toasts. But it doesn't matter. It still tastes great.
