The concert completes the performance of the "Third Part of the Clavierübung" by J. S. Bach in Lahm after the Reformation service on the previous evening. The program includes the major and some of the minor chorale arrangements, the four duets and Praeludium et Fuga in E flat major, played by Prof. Lucas Pohle on the historic Herbst organ. The "Himlische Cantorey" flanks the chorale arrangements with corresponding chorale movements by J. S. Bach.
The Heinrich Gottlieb Herbst organ from 1732 is one of the most valuable historical organs in Bavaria; over 90 percent of the high-quality original substance is still preserved today. A comprehensive restoration is in preparation, for which donations are being solicited on site and via online sponsorships.
With the kind support of the Niederfüllbach Foundation, the Upper Franconia Foundation, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery of Michelau and the Friends of the Lahm Autumn Organ.
