DUCTAPE hails from Istanbul's bustling underground music scene and carries the torch of the groundbreaking post-punk revolution. But they're not just emulating their predecessors, they're pushing the genre forward into unexplored realms. In a world where genres are becoming increasingly blurred, DUCTAPE stand tall, creating a sound that challenges, captivates and resonates. The band is the sound of the beating heart of post-punk, the echo of the melodic discourse of darkwave and the voice of the introspective narratives of goth. With deep, brooding bass lines interweaving with unruly guitar riffs and pathos-laden lyrics, DUCTAPE embodies the essence of post-punk: the raw energy, the rebellious spirit and the relentless desire to experiment. Shaped by their musical influences, Holger Meyer and Michael Gronau create a world between Cold Wave, Dark Wave and Post Punk, combined with their very own signature and creativity to bring the inside out. English lyrics combined with spherical, melodic guitars and the singer's distinctive voice create an image of longing, of surrendering and arriving, of being lost and being caught. Arriving is exactly the right keyword. The first CD - LONG FORGOTTEN WORLD - was released in 1996. In 2024, after 14 years, a new longplayer sees the light of day again with SECOND LIFE. 13 songs with a total playing time of 60 minutes cast a spell over the listener and take them on a journey that reflects the soul of the two artists and is perceived as a continuation of the long-forgotten world.
