DŮM BEZ VÝCHODU (House Without Exit) is a haunting long-term documentary that addresses resistance to the business of poverty in the Czech Republic. The film focuses on the notorious "Kuncovka" hostel in Brno, a place of systemic exploitation that particularly affects the Roma community. In the course of the story, the residents of Kuncovka find themselves in an existential struggle - not only against the owner, but against a system that tolerates and even enables such abuses. The film sheds light on the connections between poverty, discrimination and systemic injustice and shows how disadvantaged groups in a neoliberal society are trapped in a vicious circle of exploitation and exclusion.
