Three times two - that's the formula for the musical encounter on the duo evening. As always, this 14th Duo Evening is not about hocus-pocus, but about the magic of the smallest possible ensemble line-up. Following the previous Duo Evenings, the press echo consistently reflected the good mood at the concert evenings: headlines such as "musical enjoyment in a double pack" or "a triple pleasure" were printed in concert reviews. Most recently, the HNA ran the headline: "Sonorous doubles...soulful moments in the Theaterstübchen".
On the duo evening in the Theaterstübchen, the audience can once again expect a varied concert program: three Kassel duos consisting of vocals and piano or guitar present their program between pop, soul and jazz. The focus is on three singers and their musical partners. Nicole Jukic (vocals) and Lisa Sommerfeld (piano) as "Two Lounge", Tabea Henkelmann (vocals) and Thomas Höhl (piano) as "Season" and the duo Hanna Carlson (vocals) and Frank Sommerfeld (guitar). The finale of the duo evening, in which the three duos perform together, has also increasingly developed into a musical highlight over the years.
Nicole Jukic and Lisa Sommerfeld conjure up music to dream and groove to with their great joy of playing and their shared musical breath. In addition to their affinity for jazz, both musicians are very keen to experiment. A particular trademark of Two Lounge is their jazz-infused pop songs, which are always a surprise when decorated with two-part vocals.
With the duo "Season", gentle pop songs meet funny cabaret interludes, dramatic pieces with a film-music feel meet groovy soul numbers. A treasure trove of sophisticated and witty pop songs in very unique arrangements. The warm timbre of Tabea Henkelmann's voice creates a very intimate and personal atmosphere on stage within seconds. The second member of the duo is pianist Thomas Höhl, a film composer who displays a wide stylistic and emotional range on stage.
Pop meets jazz, vocals and guitar, Göttingen and Kassel: these are the ingredients that singer Hanna Carlson and guitarist Frank Sommerfeld bring together in their program "little numbers and GREAT HITS". Singer Hanna Carlson, a graduate of the "Hogeschool voor de Kunsten" in Arnhem (Netherlands), has been known in the Göttingen music scene for years for her extraordinary voice in various band projects. With Frank Sommerfeld, guitarist from the Kassel music scene, she has a sensitive and distinguished musical companion. Both present a varied program with brilliant song gems from pop to jazz.
