DUO:DO is your evening with PACT! On selected Thursdays, we invite you to a reading and concert in the foyer - the perfect early start to the weekend with drinks at the bar, inspiring texts and electrifying sounds.

PROGRAM CHANGE: For the third edition of 'Duo:Thursday', Svea Mausolf will not be reading from her debut novel 'Image' as originally planned. The reading will be postponed to another time. Instead, you can look forward to an evening with BRACHE.

BRACHE is a newspaper for new literature from the Ruhr area founded in summer 2025, whose editorial team consists of Esra Canpalat, Julienne De Muirier and Lukas Hermann. It offers a new platform for literary voices from the Ruhr region, is published twice a year and is available free of charge. For DUO:DO, BRACHE invites Miedya Mahmod, among others, to an evening of texts and discussions, moderated by Lukas Hermann. Accompanying the reading, the Essen bookshop Proust is organizing a book table that invites you to browse and discover.

Afterwards, Laura Krieg will take us into her world of brutalist pop with silver glitter, drum machine and microphone: the Montreal-based singer and synthesizer musician has just released her second album 'Crepuscule'. She draws on the dancefloor-ready music of the early 80s and mixes cold synthesizers and deep, electronic percussion with passionate vocals in English and French.
