The Düsseldorf Jazz Trio presents saxophonist Benjamin Herman, one of the most renowned jazz musicians in the Netherlands - an artist who sets stylistic standards not only visually but also musically.

The versatile saxophonist masters the unconventional as well as the elegant and sensitive. With over 50 albums as a solo artist and as the frontman of his groove-oriented ensemble New Cool Collective, he is one of the most productive musicians of his generation. Herman also writes columns and has hosted a radio show on Dutch public radio for over twelve years - a representative of the jazz scene who is as visible as he is audible.

Concertgoers at the Maxhaus can look forward to an evening of elegant swing, straight-ahead jazz and lively improvisation - perfectly coordinated both musically and atmospherically with the stylish flair of the monastery courtyard.

The fantastically swinging Düsseldorf Jazz Trio consists of Walfried Böcker (b), Martin Sasse (p) and Christian Schröder (dr). It is a mainstay of Maxhaus Jazz and performs four times a year with changing featuring guests. The trio always knows how to present their guest soloists in the best possible musical light.
