The "DüsselnovizInnen" competition, organized by the Literaturbüro NRW, the Bilk public library and the Eller public library, is open to Düsseldorf authors aged 18 and over who have published their first novel in print.
The winners Ramina Kalashnykova and Heike Iffland will present their texts at two readings.
Heike Iffland worked for multimedia agencies, radio stations and a climate NGO, among others, before settling in the Rhineland, where she now lives and works. Her novel Welcome to Camelford , published under her pen name H.I.Iffland, is set in the English Cornish countryside.
Ramina Kalashnykova was born in the Ukraine and has lived in Germany since 1993. She works as a communication designer and freelance illustrator; she submitted her short story collection Ein bisschen schade for the competition.
The event will be moderated by Maren Jungclaus, Literaturbüro NRW.
