In her new novel "Du musst meine Hand fester halten, Nr. 104", bestselling author Susanne Abel tells a touching story about identity, trauma and the long-lasting effects of the past.
At the end of the Second World War, a young boy is found alone - without a name, without origins. He is given the name Hartmut in a Catholic children's home, where he meets Margret, a war orphan who becomes his closest confidante. Together they try to forget what they have experienced - but the past not only catches up with them, but also with the following generations.
Susanne Abel, known for her successful novels "Stay away from Gretchen" and "Was ich nie gesagt habe", presents her new work in Hamburg - in the atmospheric setting of the JazzHall.
With her enthusiasm for literature and her many years of experience as an editor and cultural mediator, Caroline Grafe will host the evening. Vera Teltz, celebrated actress and dubbing artist, including the German voice of Helena Bonham Carter and Naomie Harris in the James Bond films, will read the passages.
