about smoking, sporting, loving and selling
adapted for the stage by Elsa-Sophie Jach and Constanze Kargl, based on the novel of the same name by Marieluise Fleißer

Tobacconist and local swimming star Gustl Gillich falls in love with Frieda Geier, a traveling saleswoman and as such a lone fighter in a male domain. However, when Gustl discovers that love is a business model and Frieda a cheap source of labor, he is abandoned by her and finds solace in misogyny and male bonding. Marieluise Fleißer takes autobiographical cues from her own marriage in her portrayal of the unequal couple.
