Spinning workshop with Monika Hennig-Rauth
For over 10,000 years, people have been transforming fibers such as wool, flax or silk into yarn with a hand spindle - an ancient craft that made our culture and clothing possible in the first place. Today, this knowledge has almost been lost, but with the hand spindle it can be rediscovered easily and with great pleasure. In this workshop, you will learn step by step how to create your first yarn from loose fibers. You will feel the cause and effect of twist and draft, learn the secrets of wool preparation and experience how a thread becomes a finished yarn. Everything you need will be provided - no previous knowledge is necessary. Come along, immerse yourself in the magic of spinning and take a piece of history home with you - home-spun and unique.
