Eins-eins-solo

Twice a year, final projects by students of the Hessian Theater Academy (HTA) are presented at TNT. Carlos Franke from the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at JLU Giessen will be performing a musical theater piece with Singing Saws about shared loneliness, inspired by the story "Solitude" by Ursula K. Le Guin.

A community of the lonely. Learning from each other how to be alone. Living together by leaving each other alone. Is that possible?

A constellation of soloists sheds light on the surprising, utopian success of such an attempt, the inner contradictions, the anarchic freedom and the struggle with social pressure from outside. They tell stories, but no one speaks. They sing, but without a voice.

Eins-eins-solo is a light-musical essay with singing saws, influenced among other things by the story Solitude by Ursula K. Le Guin, the lecture Communication by John Cage and aleatoric music.
