The Electric Echo Festival brings the pulsating energy of electronic soundscapes to Bielefeld and combines atmospheric darkness with danceable euphoria. In the unique atmosphere of the Pappelkrug, driving beats, spherical synthesizer pads and distinctive voices merge into an intense live experience between nostalgia and the future. Look forward to a night full of emotion, light and electronic passion - somewhere between shimmering synth pop, profound dark wave, energetic future pop, powerful synth rock and timeless new wave.

The bands of the evening

My silent Romance
My Silent Romance from East Westphalia moves between synth pop, dark wave and future pop. The duo, consisting of Gina (lyrics) and Jan (music), incorporates elements of 80s New Wave and combines them with modern sounds to create a clear musical language. The songs alternate between melancholy and driving energy. Both artists draw on experience from previous musical projects and create a sound that touches both heart and soul.

You can't deny that there's a touch of Generation X nostalgia. But that in no way means that they are not open to new things. Songs by Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Björk and other favorite bands and musicians are played, sometimes similarly, but mostly in their very own way. Synth and acoustic guitar sound in symbiosis. Arthur Gramsch, Detlef Kloß and Jeannette Gramsch-Behrendt were part of the Depeche Mode tribute band Remode for many years and are now back on stage to share their favorite songs with others. Heart-Covers with joy and devotion.

Extraordinary people create unique things. Also and above all in music. And [D]Cyte 's mix is certainly unique: synth-pop in the style of the eighties, with female lead vocals and an expressive soul voice. Formed during the coronavirus pandemic, Mary, Colley and Thomas from Bielefeld have all previously worked in various bands and have plenty of stage and studio experience. The songs have to be danceable, catchy and, above all, catchy. The boys compose, arrange and create - Mary provides the lyrics. And they are sometimes atmospheric, sometimes passionate, sometimes powerful - but always written from life and accompanied by her unique voice.
"On stage" - that is always the goal, that is the magic that all three want to experience again and again. "Music must be shared directly, experienced directly." Be it at small, self-organized concerts, as a support act (for "Psyche" or "House of Harm"), at the Cold Night Festival in the Bielefeld Movie or at other events of all kinds, such as
city festivals, band contests, etc...
"Catchy" was also the headline of the Sonic Seducer in the March issue of 2024 about the song "Beyond". After all, [D]Cyte won the "Battle of the Bands" with the song. And according to the editors, with a "considerable lead"! At the KW on the Rocks - Band Contest 2025 in Herforder Kulturwerk, they were able to take third place on the podium with their greatly shortened show. For a synth-pop band that mainly had to perform against metal bands, this was a "very strong performance" (praised by the organizer).
