When Elisabeth Lohninger takes to the stage, one thing is clear: this is no off-the-peg jazz. Celebrated by the press as the "Kate Bush of jazz" , she does not shy away from stylistic tightrope walks or musical taboos. Her velvety, dark alto voice is the vocal counterpart to the iconic Freddy Mercury - and this is precisely where the appeal lies: where he explodes theatrically, she remains soulful and subtle. And suddenly even the best-known Queen lyrics seem like something new.

Together with her congenial partner - the pianist Walter Fischbacher - Lohninger has created a program.
