"It is already piling up on the shores, the sea of the oppressed, who are finally allowed to push themselves again, from bottom to top and then, even more so, from top to bottom. The Lord will come soon, oh, I see, he's already here!" The Americans have once again elected Donald Trump as their president. Who are these "people" who elect a man, the "new old king", who is dismantling democracy, indulging in money, enforcing chauvinistic principles with no regard for minorities and without empathy? In her text, Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek observed the hot phase of the election campaign, witnessed the assassination attempt on Trump, followed his "shadows" and supporters on their way to the throne - and turned it into a clear-sighted, bitterly evil piece of theater literature. She saw early on that behind Trump there is a whole system, now better prepared, an ideology in which Elon Musk is interchangeable and JD Vance is positioning himself to secure the Republicans a next term in office.
