The ENGELTHOMSEN duo plays free improvisation with an avant-garde starting point. After a long series of concerts together, they have developed a deep understanding of impulses
and sound processing in a spontaneously unfolding music. Their music is entirely acoustic, but with the help of a wide range of creative modifications they pave their way to an innovative music.

Percussionist Ben Bennett, known for his unique synthesis of traditional and extended drumming techniques, joins them on their current project. Bennett's minimalist yet extremely versatile setup, consisting of self-built percussion instruments and objects, creates a sound that blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electronic music.

A branching path of musical dematerialization has led to other forms of performance, including self-initiating monologues and the long and repetitive YouTube series Sitting and Smiling and Walking and Talking.

Together, ENGELTHOMSEN and Ben Bennett form a trio that is not only about breaking musical norms, but exploring the nature of improvisation. The trio not only experiments with sounds, but creates a dialog between tradition and innovation, where each performance becomes a journey into the unknown.

Their collective experience and fearless approach results in music that is as challenging as it is captivating, constantly redefining what is possible. The synergy between Bennett's rhythmic innovation and ENGELTHOMSEN's acoustic experimentation creates an exciting musical trialogue.
