Ensemble Naumann – Bachfest Augsburg – Chorkonzert

A weekend full of Bach awaits the people of Augsburg for the Bach double anniversary in 2025 .

The highlight will be the big choir concert on October 26, 2025 at 5 pm in the Evangelisch Ulrich church. Under the direction of Bach specialist and multiple ECHO Klassik prizewinner Christoph Spering, the Ensemble Naumann will dedicate itself to Bach's cantatas, which are more comprehensive in their orchestration and on a par with the great passions. In addition to the famous Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (BWV 147) with the probably most popular chorale arrangement Jesu bleibet meine Freude, the concert focuses on the emotional masterpiece Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis (BWV 21), Bach's longest and probably most personal cantata. The cantata, on the title page of which the composer wrote the dedicationPer ogni Tempo(for every time), unique in his oeuvre, is considered a compendium of the fifth evangelist 's compositional art and an extremely varied example of his gospel of perfect music.

The solo parts are performed by members of the ensemble who have long been shooting stars of the classical music scene, such as soprano Eva-Maria Hartmann, who recently made her debut at the Rheingau Music Festival and wowed audiences with her crossover debut CD Love Story Short, Augsburg-based Bartion Matthias Lika, who won the sensational 1st prize of the Regent's Prize at this year's Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin. The tenor Kilian Brandscherdt, who was awarded the Music Prize of the City of Regensburg, among other honors.

The ensemble will once again be accompanied by a top orchestra. Andrea Keller, co-founder of Concerto Köln and internationally sought-after violinist in renowned ensembles(Deutsche Händel Solisten, Basel Chamber Orchestra, Seville Baroque Orchestra and Les Agréments musicales), has been recruited as concertmaster. Valentin Holub, also a member of Concerto Köln and well known in Augsburg as chairman of the Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gábor Vanyó, first solo trumpeter of the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, will also be taking part.
