For the Bach double jubilee 2025 , Augsburg residents can expect a weekend full of Bach.

To kick things off, professional members of the ensemble will demonstrate their solo skills on October 24, 2025 at 8 p.m. in Evangelisch Ulrich. Experience shooting stars of the classical music scene, such as soprano Eva-Maria Hartmann, who recently made her debut at the Rheingau Music Festival and wowed audiences with her crossover debut CD Love Story Short, or Augsburg baritone Matthias Lika, who won the sensational 1st prize from the Governing Mayor of Berlin at this year's Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin and is now "in the starting blocks of a bigger career" (BRKlassik - Allegro from 17.01.25). Let yourself be inspired by the virtuoso Sinfonia from BWV 42, a "concerto a due cori", in which the strings enter into an impressive musical competition with the oboes and bassoon. Under the direction of Prof. Thilo Dahlmann, you will be moved by the smaller and more intimate cantatas such as the solo cantata Ich habe genug (BWV 82), Bach's most frequently performed church cantata, or the dialog cantata Selig ist der Mann (BWV 57) as well as dyingly beautiful chorales such as Komm, oh Tod, Du Schlafes Bruder, which even inspired the world of film.
