Personalized medicine - also known as precision medicine - promises individually tailored therapies. Diagnostics and treatment should be geared more closely to the individual - to biological characteristics, state of health and life circumstances. This holds great potential. However, because such procedures are often complex and cost-intensive, the question arises as to whether personalized medicine will be equally available to everyone in the future.
