Manipulating opinions, stirring up uncertainty and shaking trust - this is what fake news does. And in doing so, they threaten our liberal democracy and social coexistence. Disinformation distorts the image of our world, making it more difficult for us to solve problems together and democratically. So how can we recognize, see through and combat fake news? What forms can this deliberately misleading information take? Sometimes they are articles, images, videos or social media posts and are often difficult to distinguish from serious news. As fake news is usually emotionally charged, it often goes viral, especially on social networks.
This exhibition aims to help people distinguish between truth and lies by exploring different dimensions of fake news, explaining the associated terms and using QR codes to create playful elements and a digital extension of the exhibition.
The "Fake News" exhibition can be seen again from October 13 to December 17.
