Climbing on the Alster 2025 - Hamburg's most spectacular climbing event!

Ready for a thrill in the middle of the city? Then come to Klettern an der Alster 2025 - the urban climbing event that brings together sports enthusiasts, curious people and professionals every year!

An impressive climbing wall with two sides awaits you in the middle of the Europa Passage: a 16-metre high route with an overhang for the brave and a 9-metre high, straight wall for beginners. Whether you already have experience or just want to try it out - everyone is welcome here. And best of all: participation is completely free, no registration required!

The equipment? Will be provided! The safety? Guaranteed! Because the professionals from the DAV Hamburg and Lower Elbe section are on site with professional supervision and safety. All you have to do is come along.

Program highlights:

School climbing
Every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., the wall belongs to school classes. With prior registration, children and young people can gain their first experience on the wall free of charge: A unique class excursion!

Open climbing for everyone
Climbing for everyone starts at 2 pm. Anyone who signs a declaration of consent (for minors by a parent or guardian) can start climbing straight away. Just come along and join in. No prior knowledge, no registration, no costs!

Sporting Climbing Battle
The exciting sporting climbing battle takes place from 7 pm! In these thrilling duels on the wall, every participating team of two has the chance to win a shopping voucher for the Europa Passage worth €500!

The highlight event: European Cup in speed climbing
The grand finale of Klettern an der Alster. Experience Europe's fastest climbers live in action at the internationally renowned European Speed Climbing Cup on Saturday, September 13, 2025, featuring the German elite and potential participants in the 2025 World Championships in Seoul, South Korea. Fast-paced, exciting, high-class: A must for sports fans!
Admission? Free of charge, of course!
