The question of the size of the universe is closely linked to the current world view of cosmology, i.e. what we know today about the origin and development of the universe. The lecture provides an overview of this and describes how to determine distances in the universe and thus find out how large the visible area of the universe is.
It also discusses the fact that the current world view is being shaken by new observations. Cosmology is facing an exciting development that has the potential to have a major impact on our understanding of the world.
