Federspiel: "Von der langsamen Zeit"

In the organizer's words:

"Of the slow time"

Christmas is approaching: that time of year when scattered snowflakes paralyze public transport, aluminium Nicolos grin from every shelf and a cloud of punch settles over the land. But it is also a time when everything feels pleasantly slower and quieter.

And so Federspiel also leans back a little and practises seasonal deceleration: The mixed wind ensemble interprets Christmas and winter pieces from a wide variety of traditions in its program "Von der langsamen Zeit", without neglecting modern sound experiments. From local tower wind classics to rarely heard folk songs and Spanish villancicos navideños, everything is performed with joy and unobtrusive virtuosity.

In places, the program is also quite brisk, pure contemplation ultimately leads to senselessness.

In its entirety, the program is further proof that tradition should not be left to swaying philistines - not even at Christmas.
