- with Anne Becker and Anna Dimitrova -
Like his great role model Spiderman, Milo prefers to keep his talent a secret: he is a passionate ballet dancer. But when Luca joins the class, he does everything he can to bring Milo's secret to light. Nina is the self-appointed therapist of her group of friends. No matter what problem the others have: Nina can solve it with a deeptalk! Or at least she could. Her best friend Teo has been going through a difficult time for a while now, but refuses to let anyone help her.
Milo and Luca are from Anne Becker's young adult novel Milo tanzt, which was published in August 2024. Nina and Theo from Anna Dimitrova's People Pleaser from March 2025. Anne Becker was born in Essen in 1975 and works as a special needs teacher in Essen. Her debut novel Die beste Bahn meines Lebens was awarded the Leipzig Reading Compass and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. Anna Dimitrova, born in Sofia in 1998, moved from Bulgaria to Germany with her family at the age of twelve and now lives in Munich. She works there as a freelance screenwriter and deals with the culture clash she experiences every day in a comedic way. Her youth book Kanak Kids, published in 2024, is currently nominated for the Youth Jury Prize of the German Youth Literature Award.
At Ferngespräch, Anne Becker and Anna Dimitrova will meet at the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, read excerpts from their books and talk to each other. Lisa Könneke, dramaturge and co-author of several children's theater plays, will moderate the event.
The FERNGESPRÄCH series is a joint initiative of the literaturgebiet.ruhr network
