For her latest work, Hamburg choreographer Véronique Agapi Langlott enters a space of art. In the Barlach Halle K in Hamburg, she is creating a choreography that plays with the installation and sculptural strategies of the visual arts. After traveling all over Germany in 2025 in search of authentic traditional costumes, their presentations at folk festivals and the underlying craft heritage, she and her team now present an unpredictable, poetically charged contemporary interpretation of these traditions in a performance with four dancers and a musician. Traditional costumes have been reworked and alienated in a sustainable upcycling process and the audience is invited to re-modulate unwieldy themes such as conservatism, home and belonging in this context.
