Chastity is sacred - that's what Nana Myrrhe learned in her free church community. Kissing, dating, masturbation and sex before marriage were considered a sin. But at some point, her world view began to crumble.

In her book "FEUCHT & FROMM - Die schmutzigen Geheimnisse der Purity Culture", Nana Myrrhe tells of her personal experiences in a system that declares sexuality a sin - and which still has an effect today. She shows how deeply rooted the so-called ideals of purity are in conservative religious structures and how they shame, control and shape young people. At the same time, she reveals the perfidious mechanisms behind purity culture.

On this evening, the author will read from her book, talk about shame, hostility towards the body and self-empowerment and about how a new relationship to lust and freedom can be gained.
