The documentary film EINE DEUTSCHE PARTEI shows inside views of the AfD. It delves into the working lives of the politicians and functionaries of the party, which has attracted attention in recent years primarily as a suspected right-wing extremist party, and puts the audience right in the middle of the political action, experiencing the party's struggles for direction and the rebellion of its supporters against a "decadent establishment". It experiences the AfD's own dynamics, its resentments, ideas and self-presentations. The party's continued drift to the right proves to be just as real as the existence of dreams of government participation and coalition capability. Demagogues and tacticians encounter offended conservatives, opponents of the zeitgeist and political novices in search of something completely different. A close-up look behind the scenes, an insight into the everyday world of this German party.
