The Careteria cordially invites you to a movie night on 22.01.2026, will be shown:
In the early 1960s, so-called guest workers from Anatolia and other parts of Turkey were recruited by the Federal Republic of Germany. From the very beginning, there was something that always accompanied them and was part of their culture: their music - a piece of home in a foreign country.
Over the years, independent musical styles developed in Germany that did not exist in this form in the mother country. This unprecedented story of an independent musical culture of immigrants from Turkey, their children and grandchildren in Germany, is told in the cinema documentary "Liebe, D-Mark und Tod" by Cem Kaya in a very complex way with never-before-seen archive material.
This is followed by the 8-minute short film " Unutama Beni " by Kaan Muratoski, which provides intimate insights into the everyday life of his grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
Kaan Muratoski will then talk about his film and enter into a discussion with the audience.
