Filmvorführung & Podiumsgespräch: "The Dialogue Police"

The documentary "The Dialogue Police" provides an insight into the work of a small special unit of the Swedish police, which acts as a mediator between demonstrators, counter-demonstrators and the police at rallies and protests. The film follows the police officers at close quarters during Koran burnings, climate protests and political demonstrations. Their job is to reduce tensions, build trust and defuse conflicts through communication. They are armed only with words, patience and empathy. In an increasingly polarized world, this unit does everything it can to mediate. "The Dialogue Police" is a plea for the importance of dialog and respectful exchange for our democratic society.

The film will be shown in a shortened version (60 minutes) and in Swedish with German subtitles. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with two officers from the Swedish Dialogue Police. Free admission. Registration via Eventbrite.
