Flamenco by friends for friends -
Ricardo Espinosa & Flamenco Friends
"One Night in Andalucia"
On this evening, we will take guests on a journey through Andalusia with flamenco sounds, flamenco dancing and paella. The motto: flamenco & culinary delights.
Together we eat paella, drink sangria and enjoy the flamenco atmosphere that the artists have prepared for you: on a journey through Andalusia, to the places where the different flamenco styles were born, with their stories about life.
Ricardo Espinosa is no stranger to many in the region. The versatile Spaniard with rhythm in his heart and hands has already toured the region as an actor and musician. Now, together with long-time companions, he presents the music in which he is at home: Spanish flamenco. Authentic, just as the four flamenco friends themselves have lived and celebrated flamenco in their families and circles from an early age.
Ricardo Espinosa is regarded as one of the best percussionists in the flamenco scene. He has the gift of spreading out a carpet of sound on which the guitarist, dancer and singer can fully unfold their art! He has toured and played with well-known artists such as Tomatito, Manu Dibango, Carmen Lineares and Unheilig and has organized numerous festivals in this country himself.
The virtuoso guitarist Agustin de la Fuente will be traveling from Jerez, as will the dancer Leonor Moro from Ubeda. Agustin de la Fuente comes to Speyer as an artist who has worked with many flamenco greats, with dancers such as Sara Baras, Concha Vargas, Joaquin Grillo and singers such as the legendary Juanito Valderrama. Agustin shines on the guitar both as a soloist and in the accompaniment of dance and song - two different disciplines.
dance and singing - two different disciplines. Leonor Moro has toured throughout Europe and Taiwan with her group. She has incorporated the impulses of crossover and world music into her dance. Like few dancers, she knows how to enter into a dialog with the musicians with the rhythm of her body.
Vocally, Juan Granados from Jerez will heat up all the emotions, transforming the very quiet, broken, devotional tones as well as the loudest cry of pain into song. He can switch between rhythms with such exuberance that one wonders how short the distance between flamenco, rock, reggae and waltz can be.
