Small messages with a big impact - many enthusiastic street art spotters in Hamburg are familiar with the cheerful little hand-drawn stick figures. The artist has lived in Hamburg for a long time and has distributed her small tiles and key rings in many places on her walks through the Schanze, Ottensen or St. Pauli. With just a few strokes, the artist manages to draw complex motifs, emotions or statements in a pointed way and hit the bull's eye: In this case, the viewer's heart.

Now the Cologne-based street artist Sweetsnini is coming to Hamburg for the first time on November 1 to present an extensive solo exhibition of over 100 tile motifs from her almost 10-year street art career at the Urbanshit Gallery.

The Cologne-based artist discovered her passion for street art in Hamburg. It all began with small painted key rings, which she distributed on the walls of houses, bars, cafés and clubs in the Schanze district. Whoever found them could keep them. It didn't take long for a real fan base to develop and a daily scavenger hunt for the coveted works of art. The artist now works mainly on tiles in order to have more space for her messages, which go straight to the heart of the viewer. This is exactly what her 'Ninis' are all about. Small, hand-drawn stick figures in her unmistakable style: sometimes funny, sometimes cheeky, sometimes angry, but always with a message.

With humorous comments on current events, trends or simply to express their anger about certain things. Sweetsnini's little stick figures, the 'Ninis', can now be found in many places - on the streets of Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam and Vienna. The 'Ninis' are encouraging, give encouragement and, above all, put a smile on the face of everyone who discovers them.

"My challenge is to express a lot with just a few lines."

The 'Ninis' actually consist of just a few lines, but that is exactly where Sweetsnini's art lies. With just a few strokes, the artist manages to draw complex motifs, emotions or statements and hit the bull's eye: In this case, the viewer's heart.
