FLINTA* Music Lab: DJ Workshop

Let's mix it up!
Have you always wanted to know what actually happens behind the turntables? Do you want to try your hand at digital DJing? Then this workshop is just right for you!
Together we'll create a space where you can learn the basic skills of DJing and try them out straight away. From technique to tact.

What you can expect:
- Introduction to the basics of DJing
- What does the cue button do? How does pitching work?
- Understanding beats, BPM and transitions
- First attempts at mixing with professional equipment

The workshop will be led by Jenne (she/her), DJ, booker and organizer from Frankfurt. She has been behind the turntables for almost ten years, is part of the label Reach Another System and works in the artist collective saasfee*. Her diverse sound is characterized by dramatic synths and dark soundscapes. She is also politically active with the association Music Women* Hessen for the equality of FLINTA* people in the music scene.

Conditions of participation:
The FLINTA* MUSIC LAB workshop series is aimed exclusively at FLINTA*. FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people. The events serve to empower and specifically support people who are disadvantaged by patriarchal structures.

By booking a ticket, participants confirm bindingly that they belong to the FLINTA* target group and have taken note of these conditions of participation. FLINTA* MUSIC LAB:
Despite a diverse cultural program and committed actors, FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people) are still significantly underrepresented on stages and in technical professions in the event industry. To actively counteract this, we are launching the FLINTA* Music Lab - a series of workshops for all FLINTA* who are generally interested in music, technology and everything behind, in front of and on stage. Together, Kreativfabrik and Schlachthof are creating a safer space for learning, trying things out and networking - with a focus on event technology, DJing and music production.
