FLINTA* Music Lab: Screaming Workshop [AUSGEBUCHT]

In the organizer's words:

Screaming Workshop in the Kesselhaus
FLINTA* Music Lab - a series of workshops for all FLINTA* behind, in front of and on stage

Screaming is a vocal technique that involves deliberately loud and powerful vocals. This technique is mainly used in genres such as punk, metal, hardcore and rock. It is less about melodic singing and more about expressiveness and dynamics. However, it can also be integrated as a stylistic element in other genres.

In this workshop, you will learn how to use your voice in a powerful yet healthy way. Whether on stage, as an outlet for emotions or just for fun.

The workshop will be led by Laura (she/her), who has been a metal singer since the age of 19 with her band The Tex Avery Syndrome. She has been giving lessons and workshops for harsh vocals / screaming for almost three years.

Aims of the workshop:
- Warm up
- Understanding sound production and anatomy
- Correct use of breathing
- Understanding the importance of correct breathing and getting to know different breathing techniques
- Isolation of the treble and first attempts at screaming
- Cool down

Each theoretical part is followed by practical exercises.

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as advanced students who are not (yet) aware of the technique and anatomy or want to hone skills they have already acquired. No previous knowledge is necessary.

Important: please bring something to drink (water or tea, no dairy products or carbonated lemonade) and a large towel.

Conditions of participation:
The FLINTA MUSIC LAB* workshop series is aimed exclusively at FLINTA* people. FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people. The offers serve to empower and specifically support people who are disadvantaged by patriarchal structures. By booking a ticket, participants confirm that they belong to the FLINTA* target group and have taken note of these conditions of participation. This confirmation is a prerequisite for participation. If you are unable to attend, please let us know so that other interested parties can move up. Contact: info@schlachthof-wiesbaden.de

FLINTA* MUSIC LAB:
Despite a diverse cultural program and committed actors*, FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people) are still significantly underrepresented on stages and in technical professions in the event industry.to actively counteract this, we are launching the FLINTA* Music Lab - a series of workshops for all FLINTA* who are generally interested in music, technology and everything behind, in front of and on stage. Together, Kreativfabrik and Schlachthof are creating a safer space for learning, trying things out and networking - with a focus on event technology, DJing and music production.

In cooperation with the Schlachthof
