Walking with a Ghost: Films about ghosts of the past

The ghosts of lost family members can provide comfort, but they can also prevent us from coming to terms with our grief. While in THE LAND OF SLUMBER an elderly lady wanders lonely around an abandoned train station in search of her son, the director of HEROINE - NECESSARY OBJECTS wants to keep the ghost of her deceased sister alive with the help of objects. In the Chinese animated film WON'T BE HERE , the spirit of the lyrical ego wafts through the film and touches the lives of others. In a seemingly mythical tropical house, the film CROCODILE NEST traces forgotten stories about flora and fauna. And the psychedelically animated DUCK BROTH proves that bathing ducks can be possessed by insane spirits.
