Sound engineering basics with Florian Schmid
This is what my workshop/training/seminar is about:
You have little or no experience with sound engineering, but want to understand how
how live sound works? In this workshop you will get a clear and
understandable introduction to the basic processes of live sound engineering - without any
prior knowledge.
Whether you want to control your own sound as a musician, spontaneously work the controls at events
the controls at events or volunteer to take care of the technology: Here you will learn the
the most important basics about:
- Signal flow
- microphones
- mixing consoles
- loudspeakers
Contents of the workshop
We will cover the following topics, among others:
- How do a microphone and a loudspeaker work?
- What cables are there and how do you use them correctly?
- How do I read and operate an analog mixing console?
(Gain, EQ, AUX, Pan, Level - simply explained)
- How does a simple sound check work?
Practice: Mixing yourself
In the practical part of the workshop, you will mix yourself - either alone or in small
groups, depending on the size of the group. A simple live situation will be simulated
(for example, vocals with guitar or electric piano) - and explained step by step.
You will receive direct guidance - uncomplicated, understandable and practical.
