"The whole year we breathe in and out," says Martin Bechler, mastermind of the cult indie band FORTUNA EHRENFELD, and continues: "This evening we're just breathing out."

For the first time, Bechler is playing his Stillste-Nacht program outside of the always sold-out Kulturkirche in Cologne, casting a quiet anchor in the venerable hall of Hamburg's Laeiszhalle at the end of the year.

Solo at the piano - the quietest, but perhaps also the most intense variation of the Fortuna Ehrenfeld universe.

With his unique poetry and deeply moving songs, Bechler has become an integral part of the German indie context. Solo on the piano, the words gain weight and deep spaces open up.

For fans of floating Fortuna piano ballads, this evening is (second) heaven!

In just a few years, Martin Bechler, head and singer of Cologne's breakout indie band Fortuna Ehrenfeld, has taken his project from a moderately attended pub concert to a sold-out Cologne Philharmonie. In 2024, he is awarded the German Cabaret Prize for his "intoxicating melodies and musical resistance".
