On January 22, 2026, a pianistic highlight awaits you in the Mathias-Jakobs-Stadthalle: a piano duo from the Münster University of Music will create an evening "Between Passion and Poetry". Two talented young pianists will take their places at the grand piano and whisk you away into worlds of sound full of emotion and sophistication.

The program includes works by Johannes Brahms, Karol Szymanowski and César Franck - compositions that cover the entire spectrum of romantic and early modern impressionistic expressiveness. Brahms' passion blazes in dense harmonies, Szymanowski's poetic mysticism blossoms in delicate tones, and time and again the four hands merge into a single large body of sound. The interplay between the two musicians is precisely coordinated and characterized by a palpable musical understanding - sometimes breathtakingly powerful, sometimes whispering and sensitive.

The result for the audience is an intense listening experience: you think you can hear an entire orchestra when the duo sets the keys in rapid motion, and the next moment you are captivated by a softly dabbed melody.
