FRANKENSTEIN
Based on the novel by Mary Shelley
Viktor Frankenstein, a young and ambitious scientist from Geneva, has the desire to discover the secret of life and overcome death. For years, he works on breathing life into dead organisms until he finally creates a human-like creature from parts of corpses. With the help of electricity, he succeeds in actually bringing it to life. But instead of celebrating his work, he realizes at this moment that his deed will have far more serious consequences than he will be able to control. The creature disappears and Viktor lives with his secret in great fear. When he learns of a murder in his home town one night, he suspects he knows who the killer is. Driven by a desire for revenge, he seeks out the creature high up in the Swiss mountains. But the conversation between the two turns out differently than expected - because the creature tells its own story and opens up unexpected perspectives on questions of responsibility, empathy and humanity.
Only 20 years old, Mary Shelley made big waves with her debut novel 1818 and her work has shaped generations of modern science fiction stories.
