A widow had two daughters: one was beautiful and hardworking, the other was ugly and lazy. But she much preferred the ugly and lazy one and so the other had to do all the work. When a bobbin falls into the well while she is spinning, she has to jump in to get it out again. Now she begins a wondrous journey through the kingdom of Frau Holle, who rewards her with gold at the end for her hard work. Her sister wants to do the same and also jumps into the well. But will she receive the same reward in the end?
