The Kellertheater opens the doors for its first Ladies Night - look forward to a sociable evening with the play "FRAUEN.MÜSSEN.LiEBEN.DÜRFEN"! At our Ladies Night there is one free sparkling wine per person. We also provide delicious snacks. Our theater bar will be open longer after the performance - perfect for chatting and enjoying time together. Come along and spend an entertaining evening with friends and a good atmosphere!

More about the play of the evening:
The play centers around the desire of two young women, Henriette and Suzanne, to get married. Henriette's father Chrysale, a man who is shy of conflict, is committed to this marriage. His wife Philaminte, who has a passion for science and poetry, would rather marry off her daughter Henriette to the pompous poet Trissotin, whom she considers a genius. Alongside Philaminte, her elder daughter Armande also promotes the academic education of women. While Chrysale's self-absorbed sister Bélise causes confusion with her own advances to Suzanne, his other sister Alise tries the exact opposite: she wants to reconcile opposites, expose Trissotin and bring the true lovers together. Will they succeed in the end?

When Molière's comedy "The Learned Women" premiered in 1672, it was a satire on the emancipation efforts of the female bourgeoisie. The team has transferred the material to the present day, linked to the question of which role models have we really overcome, which ones persist and which life plans are permitted or do we allow ourselves?
