What happens when stand-up comedy meets spoken word? When wit meets depth, punchlines meet poetry? This is exactly what comedy meets poetry - the new format as part of the Harbour Front Literature Festival presented by Freche Möwe Stand-Up Comedy and Kulturbereicherungsbetrieb.

On three Thursdays, six artists will take to the stage of Hamburg's Rathauspassage: three comedians and three poetry slammers from the Hamburg and northern German scene. No competition, no voting - just an evening together that shows how lively language can be on stage.

Stories, observations, thoughts and punchlines - sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes touching, sometimes funny. Stand-up is on the rise as a new form of spoken word; poetry slam has long been established. Together, a new format is being created that picks up on the cultural now of the city and creates space for honest voices.
