With his solo all-weather debut album Golden Receiver, Frieder Graef shows that as a classic singer/songwriter you don't have to have one foot in country or folk, but can also take unexpected forks in the road.
Having been around the block as a sideman and studio musician for Smokestack Lightnin', The Green Apple Sea and Boozoo Bajou, among others, he now presents his own musical signature, combining the warmth of indie-Americana with psychedelic influences and krautrock elements - a mixture that sounds both timeless and unconventional.
