Music and poetry in harmony
"Ani is the Schubert of crime fiction", wrote DIE ZEIT about the Munich writer's works. Poetry and music meet in a finely tuned interplay in the special ambience of the Silbersaal: Friedrich Ani, multi-award-winning novelist and poet, reads from his poems. The pianist Maharani Chakrabarti, a highly sensitive and accomplished Schubert interpreter, responds with selected works by the romantic composer, whose soundscapes atmospherically expand the depth of the texts. An evening between word and sound, timeless past and stirring present.
A fresh, contemporary concert format that delights audiences and press alike: pianist Maharani Chakrabarti curates and hosts exciting themed evenings featuring top-class guest artists. Udo Wachtveitl, Jutta Speidel and Julian Nida-Rümelin, among others, have already been part of the salon, as have first-class musicians. Music, literature, history and philosophy come together with cross-genre themes. The audience can enjoy the performances over a drink in the magnificent ambience of the Silbersaal.
