Frisch gepresst mit Tobi Dahmen - „Columbus­straße“

After the death of his father, comic artist Tobi Dahmen discovers a collection of old family letters. Based on these testimonies, he reconstructs the years 1939 to 1945 in the mirror of his own family history. His graphic novel vividly tells of both resistance and conformism. NDR and SWR, Süddeutsche Zeitung and SPIEGEL - all are enthusiastic about the accuracy and the graphic realization.

Tobi Dahmen (1971) grew up in Wesel and began drawing comics as a schoolboy. He moved to Düsseldorf in 1991 and studied visual communication there. He has lived in Utrecht since 2008.

The event will be moderated by Michael Serrer, Literaturbüro NRW and is being held in cooperation with the Düsseldorf Central Library and the Freundeskreis Stadtbüchereien Düsseldorf.
